First, let's just define vitality.

And you know, it's basically our energy, it's our strength, it's our ability to live and grow and develop.

And it's also our life force.

Kristin: 00:01:42

It's what defines living beings from non living beings.

Kristin: 00:01:46

Right?

Kristin: 00:01:46

Our vitality.

Kristin: 00:01:48

It's a state of being strong and active and having energy.

Kristin: 00:01:51

And we are going to talk about how can we physically and mentally be strong?

Kristin: 00:01:56

How can we have the power and mindset to endure?

Kristin: 00:01:59

And how can we be spiritually vital as well, have that spiritual vitality?

Kristin: 00:02:04

Living from a place of faith, how can we have the most well being we're able?

Kristin: 00:02:08

Because as we age, we're actually not meant to have mental decline.

Kristin: 00:02:14

We're not really meant to have physical decline.

Kristin: 00:02:16

Yes, our body doesn't produce as much collagen.

Kristin: 00:02:19

It's harder to gain muscle, right?

Kristin: 00:02:22

Things change.

Kristin: 00:02:23

But if we take steps, we can be strong, we can be mentally quick, and we can have great vitality as we age.

Kristin: 00:02:34

But we've got to invest in ourselves now, invest in our health and our wellness.

Kristin: 00:02:39

And if we do that, we in most cases can really live and thrive as we age.

And so I'm here to help you do just that.

I want to grow and learn and just build my own vitality alongside you.

All right, on today's episode, I'm just going to share with you some of the core areas that we're going to be covering in Everyday Vitality.

In the coming episodes and series, we're going to talk about how can we be mentally strong and how do we work on those things, right?

How do we work on our mindset?

How do we keep ourselves sharp?

What foods and supplements help us do that?

How can we be physically strong and also be able to do things as we hit midlife and beyond, you know, pick things up, stretch, go down to the ground, pick up, you know, our crayon kids, whatever it might be.

And so we're going to talk about those sort of things.

So everything from how do we keep ourselves moving, how do we move our body in a way and do exercises that help us stay strong and have lean muscle, we're going to talk about how do we, how can we be spiritually strong?

And so what does the research tell us about having a spiritual life and the connection of our mind and body with that and why that's so important, especially as we age, to our health, to our vitality.

But we're also going to talk about the connection of nature and ancestral practices and how those are so tied to our health.

They're tied to our circadian rhythm, they're tied to our hormones and how they work our sleep habits.

Kristin: 00:04:27

We're also going to talk about our environment and how that impacts our health and well being.

Kristin: 00:04:32

And we're going to talk about detoxification processes, right?

Kristin: 00:04:35

So if we're not detoxifying our body, so whether that's through sweat or whether that's through exercise or whether that's through supplementation and food, we have to be detoxing our body.

Kristin: 00:04:46

And then we're going to talk about relationships, because the data's in.

Kristin: 00:04:51

And the people that live the longest lives, they are people that embrace deep and meaningful relationships with at least another person or two.

Kristin: 00:04:59

They're part of community and we're going to talk about just doing things where we still have purposes and passion because when we do, we have a reason to live, a reason to get up in the morning.

So this show is going to cover all of these things and more, but really it's all about how can we boost our health and energy through nature, through natural solutions and through coming together as a community.

While the show is more just a quick introduction to you about what you can expect, I did want to share with you one practice that I have put in place into my own life that's made a big difference.

And while I've done this before, I have just applied it in a bigger way.

Kristin: 00:06:46

So that is going outside in the morning to try to get the sunlight first thing in the morning.

Kristin: 00:06:51

So sometimes it's sitting out back with a cup of coffee, you know, with a blanket wrapped around me at this time of year.

Kristin: 00:06:57

Or it's going on my walk first thing in the morning.

Kristin: 00:06:59

But it's getting outside and getting that morning sun into my eyes and onto my body.

Kristin: 00:07:05

And we're going to definitely cover that in an entire episode and we're going to talk about why that is.

Kristin: 00:07:10

There's so many health benefits to it, from helping to balance our hormones to helping our balance our circadian rhythm so that we can actually sleep better at night when we go to sleep.

Kristin: 00:07:21

There's so many benefits and when I can, I also am barefoot outside, or I wear my grounding shoes, which is just leather shoes, so that I'm also getting contact with the earth, which we will cover that with an expert as well.

Kristin: 00:07:34

But doing that every day has already made a big impact in my life.

Kristin: 00:07:37

I absolutely sleep deeper and sleep more restfully.

Kristin: 00:07:42

And I can also just tell that my energy is better when I get up, and I do that.

Kristin: 00:07:48

So it doesn't mean that you have to get up with the crack of dawn, but it's as soon as you get up in the morning, it's trying to get the full spectrum of the sun's rays or sunlight onto your body, which is how we were designed, instead of our phone's light or artificial light of our house.

Kristin: 00:08:06

And I'm not saying you're not going to turn on a light to get outside, but that's probably one of the biggest changes I've made this year, where I would do that sometimes before, but I'm trying to make this a daily habit and I can tell a big difference.

So I would say that's one of the main practices that there's a lot of people talking about at this point and the benefits of why it's important for us to do that.

And so that's just one little tidbit of what's to come on this podcast.

But how true is that?

If we don't have our health, we cannot use our wisdom, we cannot be creative and use our art, we will not have strength, and wealth becomes useless and we can't use our minds.

Friends, it all starts with health.

And that's what I want to help you do, is have everyday health through being the most vital person, mind, body and spirit that you can be.
