    In today’s episode Kristin shares an experience she recently had with a homeless man she spoke with. She talks about the experience and what she’s learned from going up and asking his/her name and finding out what is going on with him/her and the situation they are in. She talks about helping in our communities and as importantly about connecting with people- letting them be seen and listened to. She challenges us to be givers and consider our views on homelessness and others in need right around us- do we have an open heart or have we become septical and cynical about who needs help and who might not. She chooses to approach the world and people with an open heart and a heart of giving instead of worrying about if the person is truly in need or being truthful.

    On today’s podcast episode, Kristin interviews, Sabrina Gaffney, a quirky, uplifting and funny poet on Instagram and founder of Hullabaloo Poetry- Sabrina shares her story of writing poetry in her youth and then becoming a copywriter and her journey back to listening to her soul’s calling and learning to lean into joy and what brings her happiness. Sabrina shares how she turned her fun, irreverent and uplifting poems into a brand and became an entrepreneur and came back to herself as a poet her soul always knew she was meant to be.

    One concept Sabrina shares is that no one holds the blueprint to your life but you because you are the designer of your own life and while there are no directions, it’s up to us to listen to ourselves and take the path back to our deepest purpose and desire to creative work we love into the world.

  • Ep 127: How to Minimize Stress and Improve Our Health Using Our Brains

    On today’s episode Kristin talks to Alison Leitheiser, an Alternative Health Care Practioner, about training our brain to change the course of our day and how we can use simple techniques and exercises to reduce stress, improve our health and be more connected to our bodies and to be more present.

    Alison shares her story of being a teenager who experienced a major health crisis and lost all movement from her neck down for a year of her life- she was living as a quadriplegic and the doctors had no idea why or how to help her. She goes onto explain that her family eventually found an alternative health clinic who believed they could help her and lo and behold they did. It was her journey through that health crisis that moved Alison into becoming an Alternative Health Care Prationer so she could help others be well and take care of themselves.

    This is a fantastic episode about how each of us needs to practice self-care and learn how to balance our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems so we can learn to live calmer, healthier lives. And often it’s entrepreneurs who sometimes ignore or push aside caring for our bodies and listening to ourselves for many years- this is a great episode to reset our habits and practices as we move into the New Year.

Often, we are trying to grow something when we have not addressed something else in our life or business that first needs to be handled. For example, if you are stressed out and exhausted it’s often hard to determine the right actions to take. Another reason you may get stuck is because of your belief in yourself or your lack of belief that you can hit that goal or dream and of course false narratives or stories you have around money, success, ability or worthiness can often also keep you from the growth you want and deserve. Lastly, understanding your deeper why- what is the impact and change you want to create in the world that will keep you going and also that you can test your ideas and actions against- without understand that bigger, more intimate why we can often get off course.
